Made for everyday wear
Stainless steel is valued for its strength, corrosion resistance and ability to maintain its appearance with relatively simple care. It makes an excellent foundation for jewellery intended to be worn regularly.
For selected designs, YAVI uses PVD finishing to create gold-tone and other coloured surfaces with improved wear resistance compared with conventional decorative plating.

YAVI jewellery is crafted primarily from durable, corrosion-resistant stainless steel selected for its strength, everyday wear and low-maintenance finish.
Selected pieces are completed with PVD coating for a durable coloured finish designed to withstand everyday wear better than conventional decorative plating.

Selected YAVI pieces use PVD coating to create durable gold-tone and coloured finishes. PVD offers stronger wear resistance than many conventional plating methods, while still benefiting from thoughtful everyday care.

Water
Showering, swimming and everyday moisture
Stainless steel handles everyday life well, including occasional contact with fresh water. For the best long-term appearance, we recommend avoiding prolonged exposure to chlorine, salt water and strong chemicals, particularly for PVD-finished pieces.
Can I wear it in the shower?
Occasional fresh-water contact is generally manageable, but removing jewellery before showering helps reduce soap, shampoo and mineral build-up.
Can I wear it while swimming?
Remove jewellery before swimming where possible, particularly in chlorinated pools or the sea.
If accidentally exposed, rinse with fresh water afterward and dry thoroughly. Salt should not remain on the jewellery.

Cosmetics
Jewellery goes on last
Perfume first. Jewellery last.
Apply perfume, body lotion, sunscreen, makeup, hairspray and skincare products before putting jewellery on, and let them dry first. This is particularly useful for preserving PVD surfaces.

Cleaning
How to clean your jewellery
Stainless steel
- 1Mix a small amount of mild soap with lukewarm water.
- 2Gently clean the jewellery using your fingers, a soft cloth or a very soft brush.
- 3Rinse thoroughly with clean water.
- 4Pat dry.
- 5Allow the piece to completely air-dry before storage.
PVD-coated jewellery
- 1Use lukewarm water with a very small amount of mild soap.
- 2Clean gently using your fingers or a very soft cloth.
- 3Do not scrub the surface.
- 4Rinse thoroughly.
- 5Pat dry with a soft cloth.
- 6Allow the jewellery to dry completely.
Storage
How to store jewellery
Give every piece its own space. Keeping PVD pieces separated reduces friction between surfaces and can help preserve the finish.
- Store jewellery clean and dry.
- Keep pieces separated where possible.
- Avoid allowing chains to tangle.
- Close necklaces and bracelets before storage.
- Store away from persistent moisture.
- Avoid keeping jewellery permanently inside bathrooms.
- Use the original YAVI pouch or box where appropriate.
- Keep jewellery away from sharp objects that can scratch it.
Settings
Pieces with stones or detailing
Pieces containing stones, crystals or decorative settings should be handled more gently than plain stainless steel.
- Use a soft cloth.
- Avoid aggressive brushing around settings.
- Avoid soaking for extended periods.
- Avoid ultrasonic or steam cleaning unless the specific jewellery is confirmed to be suitable.
- Check settings occasionally for visible looseness.
